the previous evga 750g2 was causing problems, as it made the pc randomly shut down.
i put my old psu in, and the problem went away.

i will persue an rma with the faulty evga 750g2, but i won't hold my breath, as i bought it second hand from either ebay or amazon.

i was looking at getting another one for around £100, but aybe people here can weigh in and suggest something better/cheaper to give me something to think about?

Ive two Seasonics "silent" not put the ultra Prime Titaium in yet but tested for someone to see how quiet it was apart from first buzz as it starts fast then slows right down can't hear it.

Other i have brand new still in box just not sure what to do with it now having other one is the 750w Focus platinum they both look pretty well made But be prepared for the Liqurice shoe laces cables! and not very generous if have a bigger case.

that's very generous of you, area51, but i have grabbed a seasonic psu, a friend basically sorted everything out with my new pc build for me.

i'm now in the process of getting everything running on it.

he recommended to me that i do not install 2 x 980's and run them in sli, as it is game specific whether that particular title accepts sli.

he said two is 'overkill', and the seasonic 750 might struggle in sli, as there might not be enough 'overhead' power to handle any powerspikes that could occur if i was to run 2 980's in sli?

SLI/X fire does seem game type dependant yes one or other works well in some but not in others! "Lifes little Mysteries!" Mind then come to W10 and that's beyond explaining!
But should have enough power for 2 if as other poster says 200w cards cpu is around 75w?
