Upgrade from GTX 1070 or wait for next series of cards?

Hello and good afternoon everyone,

I currently have a Asus Turbo 8gb GTX 1070 and am wondering if it would be better to upgrade to a 1080/1080ti or hold off until the new series of cards.

Does anyone know a rough idea when the new Nvidia cards will be released? and whether in your view its worth upgrading now?

I play at 1440p and normally enjoy to use the best settings I can go to.
