hi people.

well ive been unable to resolve the issues with my gtx 295.
cards in perfect working order just not with this mobo.
so it looks like its gona have to be sold on.
my question is a good upgrade ?
im useing for gaming mostly Fps i.e codbo , mw3 , bf3 + dirt 3 ,f12011.
im useing a 24 inch monitor and play at 1080p.
ide like to get decent settings but in bf3 ultra not to worried about.
should i go for sli , crossfire at that res , ill never need more than 1 monitor.
or will a single card do me.
im also going to be useing fraps a lot if that makes any diffrence.
budget will depend on how much my gtx295 pulls in but between £150 and £200.
the rest of my system looks like this
windows 7 64bit ultra
750w thermaltake truepower sli/crossfire ready psu.
i52500k (i will be overclocking).
8 go Kingston HyperX Genesis memory.

i dont really want to change the psu just for sli/crossfire but if needs must.

hope thats enougth info for any suggestions.

any help would be much appreciated.

thanks friends :)

A single GTX560Ti will be fine in BF3. You should get 50-60fps depending on the map unless you enable 4x MSAA. I play on all high settings with motion blur and MSAA off and get a fairly solid 60fps with an I5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz.

I actually have a pair in SLI though have now disabled as I can't tell any real difference in frame rate at 1080p so the other card will be going in a different PC. Bought the second due to poor frame rates but turned out to my Q6600 ....

The other great value card is the HD6950 though I haven't played with one of those so can't comment more.

Yeah Nvidia are certainly doing their utmost to make people with 2 series sell and replace, as they have shown fragrantly that they're not about to fix the issues.

Barstools.

Edit. And whatever you get make sure it has 2gb VRAM at a minimum. So if you are considering Nvidia you will need to get one of the custom cards with extra VRAM on.

is that using a 1gb or 2gb model??

2GB card on Capsian 64player map though at high settings I don't think Vram is an issue with 1GB cards.

Have OC'd the card from 822Mhz to 950Mhz now so you can add around 15% to these scores and these were run with default high settings wheras I've now disabled motion blur .... not sure why I want to see less clearly in an fps...
