So confused with all these price cuts, rebrands and new products.

Fancy an upgrade from my 670 PE, not sure what to go for?

1080P strictly with all bells and whistles on ultra with AA @ 60FPs

Currently my 670 is running at 1200MHz, so much faster than stock but still dipping below 50FPS on newer titles like Batman Origins, with high TXAA

I ordered a Gigabyte GTX 780 WF3 this morning but had to cancel as no waterblocks support it :(

Now looking at the 770s, seen one as low as £215 with 3 x games, but would that even be an upgrade from a 670 @ 1200Mhz?

Willing to spend around £400, and plan to sell off games to bring cost down (own them anyway). If I can get away with a nice upgrade for less i'm all ears :)

A second 670 will let you play almost all games maxed out at 1080p/60fps. The memory will be pushed hard with higher AA settings though.

A 670 to 770 isn't worth it remotely.

I've just got a Gainward 770 and I have a ASUS 670. I had a look and I think its about 20-30% faster. Its basically a 680. Not fitted it yet though but at the prices they are going at and after selling games its about £40 I will have spent. The 2gb VRAM doesnt bother me. I cant go SLI. So for me its worth it

Plus there is no warranty on my 670 so thats another plus.

Only got 1 PCI-E slot. ITX system so single card.

That's what I was thinking, can get £150ish for my 670 + £50 for games meaning new card will only cost £15ish.

For a single card I'd be looking at a 780 or a 290 non-X.

A 670 at 1200MHz is already faster than a 770, and you'll still have the same memory limitations.

Don't think I was having any memory limitation TBH, in Batman according to afterburner was using around 1.3GB

Guessing with next gen consoles the baseline at 1080p will shoot dramatically up though.

2GB VRAM combined with a 256bit bus will be a limitation, it's just a matter of when. It's a lot more relevant to SLI though.

I wouldn't consider a new card now that isn't at least 3GB/384bit unless adding a second one. Since you've only got one slot, I'd seriously think about the 780 or the 290/X.

780 seems the logical choice but its a hard pill to swallow at twice the price of the cheapest 770 with only 20-30% increase in performance.

Might wait to see how the 290 is priced.

The 770 isn't enough to run all the latest games at 1080p/60fps maxed out. You won't even manage a constant 30fps in some.

The 290 is predicted at £350.

Don't think there's enough between a 770 and a 670 to warrant the change especially it's a good clocker.

Single card solution I'd be looking at a 780, 290X or 290 Pro.

my 670 boosted to 1202mhz. my 770 boosts to 1254mhz.
I've broken the 10000 barrier on 3dmark 11.
for about £50.
I am well pleased.

for me a 780 is too expensive and I dont like AMD and 2gb VRAM is fine for what I play.
