This may be more appropriate in the GPU forum section but it's VR specific...

I can make Assetto Corsa look good on my GTX 970 for example if I ensure 4* AA is turned on, and it runs smooth. On Project Cars though there's the option of Super Sampling from the default 1 to 1.5 or something. This is set in the Project Cars .xml config file.

Changing mine to 1.5 I saw a big increase in rendering quality but huge lag and very poor frame rate. Am think of changing now to a GTX 1070 to allow less fuzzy graphics in some games. Is Project Cars just a bad example, or will getting something faster allow the same image quality increase across most titles like this?
Am also wondering if it's my CPU, which is X5650 @ 4.1Ghz.

The specs of the new VR funhouse are ridiculous...
Low Quality

◦GPU: GeForce GTX 980 Ti, TITAN X, 1060 or 1070
◦CPU: Intel Core i7-4790
Medium Quality

◦GPU: GeForce GTX 1080
◦CPU: Intel Core i7-5930
High Quality

◦GPU: A single Geforce GTX 1080, or a 2-Way GeForce GTX 1070, TITAN X or 980 Ti SLI setup
◦GPU PhysX: Also requires a GeForce GTX 980 Ti, or greater, to be dedicated as a PhysX GPU in the NVIDIA Control Panel
◦CPU: Intel Core i7-5930
