Looking to upgrade my aging 970
gaming at 1080p

was originally planning to get a used 1070 for ~£200
but also looking at the new 5600xt or a rtx 2060 which would be around £260/270 brand new

so gaming at 1080p 60fps, which would be the best option?

1080p 60fps? Stick with the 970

id like to get high/ultra settings on new/upcoming games though, im not sure the 970 is going to cut it anymore

really not sure what to do... if RDR2 is a sign of what performance will be needed in future games then i would have no choice but to upgrade
im not in any real rush so i could maybe wait and see what kind of requirements newer games have this year

1660 super if you are staying at 1080/60. 1070 used isn't worth £200 imo more like £150, it falls way behind Turing/AMD in dx11/vulkan and probably won't have warranty.

Edit: just checked some benchmarks and it seems the 1660s consistently outperforms the 1070

interesting that you said that because from the benchmarks ive seen the 1070 performs better than the 1660s in the majority of games, though not by huge amounts
so the 1660s maybe worth considering if i can find a decent one ~£200, but mainly for the warranty

vega56 used undervolt it - unbeatbale for circa £150

ill look into these but wouldnt be my first choice
