upgrade from gtx680

Have the same issue myself, now having 3 screens (6080x1200 via surround) it can't cope with gaming on them, even on BF4 or Planetside 2 :o

Still waiting for 8GB 980/970's to roll out for peace of mind due to vram usage :/

from what i've seen though a 970 @ 1080p should be a great upgrade for pretty much everything

Do you need to upgrade? From the way you worded your question it seems like you aren't struggling with your 680.

I upgraded from a 680 to a 780 due to running low on VRAM at 1440p. When I was at 1080p I was fine. Bear in mind that I went to 1440p a year ago and upgraded my 680 a couple of months ago (before most of the poorly optimised VRAM hogging games came out).

Purely for gaming I am quite happy to use a GTX 680 as it is fine for the type of games I play.

Is your card fine for the games you use, if so then don't upgrade. If you find a game it can not play then it will be upgrade time but in the meantime save your money.
