Hi guys,

Im fairly new to this upgrade lark, however, i currently run the following:
HP Pavilion media centre pc, p4 3.2 gig processor with 2 gig of ram and and gforce 512mb gfx (which i replaced myself).

I am looking to upgrade and want to buy something that runs 64bit processing and will have a decent amount of grunt to run my demanding flight sim. I dont want to spend a fortune and will be buying the base unit only. Some people say that AMD 64's are the way forward but i need to know what things i need to consider and what i should look to spend.

I will require the new rig to have vista so as to use dx10 etc.

I have been looking at some MESH computers, what do you reckon to them? Are they overpriced or pretty decent?

As you can see i need a lot of help.

One thing im sure of though is that i cant go far wrong in upgrading from a hp pavilion!!

Cheers

Micah

i'd keep your case etc. just upgrade board, cpu, ram, gpu.

core 2 duo 6300
2gb ddr2 800mhz
asus 650i board
8800gts gpu.

you could sell your old parts on ebay. you may possibly need a new psu, worth trying with old psu first tho.

Chances are the case will be MATX and the PSU about 300w at best ... I'm thinking he is going to need a new case!

Budget?

Also the company you have been looking at is a competitor and therefore against the rules ...

Have you looked at OCUKs prebuilt systems? ;)

i have looked briefly but didnt see any that were preloaded with vista.

Do they state how powerful the power supply is? I think it will at least need to be 750!
