Am looking to upgrade, and was wondering if the I7 7700 would be a good upgrade to have.
At the moment iv managed to overclock it to 4.622

This is what am running with
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £552.57
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Rams running rock steady at 3333mhz

clock for clock id say HT gives you 20% boot in the BEST CASE scenarios in most stuff you will see 0 - 15% boost...

Crazy upgrade (quite possibly a downgrade for most stuff if you get near the same overclock)...

that's my opinion anyway.

I know the i5 is a good chip for gaming. just considering my options at the moment for a upgrade. I appreciate peoples opinions. if it turns out not to be a worth while upgrading to a I7 7700 or even I 6700. might look into water cooling the gpu... Might ever go sli.

found this - one review is not proof but you can google more.... its in line with other stuff I have seen before

I almost out a minus figure as the lower end of the performance bump..... looks like I should have!

highly depends on the game, battlefield you would get a massive bump in performance with HT. in that review they test the wrong areas (battlefield 4 singleplayer which is not demanding at all, old 360/ps3 ports, Crysis 3 which you get almost a double min performance jump in the grassy areas with HT)
