Hi all

Been thinking last couple of months about upgrading my CPU, I currently have an i7 3770, but due to getting into gaming more now i wouldnt mind an overclockable one, which id obviously have to get a new motherboard too.

Is it worth upgrading and will there be anything out there which is value for money???.

Any ideas thrown my way would be great.

Cheers all.

Honestly it's probably not worth it. The 3770 is still a good CPU, I have one in my work machine with a GTX960.

If you must upgrade, go x99 rather than 6700k.

Which GPU have you got?

If you're on a 3770 rather than a 3770K, the most obvious thing is to grab a 2nd hand K and overclock it. Probably get about 30% more out of it.

The jump from an oc'd 3770K to a Skylake is (I think) less, and probably not worth the cost.

I'm still rocking the i7-3770 as well, nowt wrong with it, 16Gb RAM, pair of 840 Pro SSD's and a pair of 270x's and its plenty quick enough...
