Hi,

my wife is currently on the itch for a new ipad, she currently has the 3rd generation retina display and has started complaining it is getting sluggish in general use and the 16gb storage is very limited.

the biggest question i have is, is it worth paying the extra to go from the Air to the Air 2? or would it be worth waiting for the inevetable paycut once the next ipad is released at the end of the year?

looking around it seems i could get around £150 for the current one but the 64Gb Air 2 is around £390 for the best price i could find and around £300 for the Air

its tempting just to get the Air 2 for the best price but i dont know anything about apple hardware at present.

any advice guys?

Edit: ive noticed a 32gb Air 1st gen in MM for £240, thats essentially half the price if i sell her current one.

You'll want the Air 2 for the 2gb RAM that is required for the new multi tasking and picture in picture. It's more future proof with regards to any stuff Apple have planned to leverage that 2GB RAM.
