With the recent AMD price drops I'm thinking of upgrading my MSI 7850, budget around £200 (possibly a bit more). Do you guys think I should go for a single card upgrade or another 7850 for crossfire? If single card, which one for a decent upgrade which will last a couple years? If crossfire, is it best to go for another MSI or will any 7850 do?

Also, I'm not upgrading my TT toughpower XT 675W at this time, so any suggestions should take that into account.

Thanks!

Crossfire can be flaky, don't get me wrong my research says its powerful..just very temperamental. single card solutions I have been advised are always preferable.

What resolution are you playing at?
Because tbh, a 7850 is going to last you a few years by itself, especially at 1080p

I game at 1920x1200 and ordered a 7950 sapphire, which when overclocked hold me in good stead for a good long while.

7950 isn't a worth while upgrade to a 7850. Especially if you've overclocked it.

At 7850 at ~1150 core, won't be a million miles away from stock 7950 performance.

Thanks for the replies all, I'll probably hold off upgrading for now. Although if I'm feeling flush I may get another 7850 and x-fire them just for research purposes....
