Ok I have the following as the core of my upgrade from my old system was just asking for ppl's opinions on anything that could be changed for minimal cost?

512MB Connect 3D RADEON X1800XT DVI + AVIVO

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro - P4 up to 4.4GHz - S775 Dual Core Ready

Gigabyte GA 965P-DS3, Intel P965, S775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, ATX

LN15102 Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 S775, 1.86Ghz, 1066Mhz FSB, Conroe Core, 2M Cache OEM (w/o Heat Sink Fan)

LN11596 2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC6400 (800), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 5-5-5-12

Only thing i'm considering changing at moment is maybe an upgrade to the ds4 motherboard but I am open to advice

Also was just wondering on how well the ide to sata adaptors work as I have 2 large ide hd's full of stuff I would like to fit into my new system.

Oh and this is my old rig
Athlon 2800xp barton @2.1ghz
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe
1.5mb pc2700 ddr ram
Geforce 6800gt @ Core 413mhz mem 1.19ghz
It's served me well but is starting to show it's age now

Thanks
S Drake

Welcome to the forums, the system looks fine. I think that SATA-IDE adapters work ok but I'd prefer not to use them personally, it is another thing to go wrong but if you have to then they should work. I'd consider getting SATA hard drives though soon and sell off one/both of the IDE hard drives.

Another option that might be worth considering is getting a SATA DVDRW if you can find one for a reasonable price.

Hi thanks for the reply yeah I figured the adaptors were not the perfect solution but I have just short of 600gb of stuff on my current hd's and really don't want to have to find a way of backing it all up and moving it.

Can anyone recomend a sata dvd burner since that could be a good secondary plan cost is not to much of an issue since for a pair of adaptors is going to cost me £32.

And last but not least this setup should be a pretty good overclocker right
