Upgrade from o2 pending

Right so im in my 18th month of an o2 online contract and just wanted to ask a few questions beforehand as ive never been through the upgrade process.

Firstly, my current contract is 18 months with 150 minutes and 750 texts (was a 50% extra offer when i first signed up) and got a free W810i. Now this was £25 a month and basically the phone really is scewed up now so really need a new phone!

Now what should i push for, i really wouldn't want to go beyond £30 per month for the contract price to be honest. 150 minutes per month is about right and i regularly send about 600ish texts so the current allowances are about right for me. Do you think i can get the same contract at the same price with the upgrade? I do go over on some months which on about 8 of the months were about £35-£40 with one which was £110 but i won't go there!

As regards the phone, i was looking towards XDA orbit but doubt i could get this free so what other phones would you recommend?

Ah cheers for the info mate. Yeh im just having a bit more of a look round at info about o2 upgrades as im a bit of a pushover lol so just want a bit of amo so i don't fold, which i'm pretty sure will happen!

Any tips for the call?

Any other experiences?

Having looked at O2's website i can see a variety of phones which i like (aside from the orbit which may be a bit over the top for me) so which out of the following would you suggest is the best?

Nokia 6500 slide
W910i
N95
K850i

Rightoh, i rang up the other day and it turns out ive got to wait until the 12 of November before i can upgrade. Now ive given the N95 8gb some thought and i do really like it but realise that 1) its not out on O2 until January 08 and 2) i dont think id get it free on my current contract. What do you think my best options are now? I don't mind going up to a £30 contract aslong as i get a decent deal with a very good phone!

Right after further concideration i think that i will probably stick with the orbit when it comes round to the time of upgradeing (12th october) aslong as i can get it free of charge (currently a student with nooo money!).

What is it like for sending text messages? Whats the phone like overall?

Ive had a read through various forums and something about a SD memory corruption issue keeps popping up. I can't seem to find whether thats been resolved, or even how much of an issue it will be. Any idea's?

Also would it ship with WM5 or WM6?

10 days till i can upgrade, would they bring that forward if i asked as my phone is really dead! Ta.
