Hi, needing a serious upgrade from my RTX 3060, I am trying to play video storyboards with Autodesk Infraworks for clients, but my PC is a bit jumpy when playing them. Also, when trying to render, it just takes forever...

My PC is a decent spec everywhere else:

Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K 3.40 GHz
Installed RAM 64.0 GB

Just need a boost in the Graphics dept.

Any suggestions? I assume i'm going to have to fork out quite a bit

I’m really Sorry, I put this in the wrong forum…. I’ve put another thread in Graphics Card forum, can admin please delete this thread? Sorry again…

Might be better in the 'New to PC gaming and upgrade advice' section imo, but anyway....

Are you sure it's the graphics card that's holding you back? - i.e. have you monitored utilisation when you're experiencing issues?
I only ask because the listed requirements are very minimal by modern standards - even if it is the graphics card that is holding you back, you could likely mitigate the issue with an almost unnoticable difference in visual quality without having to drop money on a new card...

Edit: I'm assuming that you're running the models directly from RAM, once loaded in, but if they're still having to load from storage in real time it'd be worth making sure they're on the fastest storage you can.
Also, rendering things at high detail generally takes 'forever' subjectively... depends what you call forever and what the output is: a still image can take a minute or two depending on complexity, or a 30s video clip can take for example 1800x that at the same level of detail (30s x 60fps)

Unless, of course, you're able to expense a shiny new card from an employers pocket, in which case - it's very demanding, you need a 5090 ;)
