Bonjour.

I'm looking between these two cards and always find conflicting information.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...hbm2-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-193-pc.html

and

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-354-ms.html

I'm undecided if I want to go 1440p as I feel 1080p is still a decent resolution but I will consider nabbing a 1440p screen at some point.

I really just want better textures, nicer looking games all around mainly palying Witcher, Red Dead, Cyber Punk when released of course.

This is my current build

Any advice appreciated! :)

You can't post competitor links...

As for that GPU, you'd struggle to get 1440p out of it. The Min you want is a 5700/5700xt or a 2070S for that res.

Wait for BF. I'll bet you'll find a 5700 for £300 or less. Which you can then boost up quite nicely to 5700 XT OC levels. That's gonna be your ticket.

Since you mentioned Cyberpunk 2077, you might want to read up on Ray Tracing and think about if you'd like that (which is actually achievable today at 1080p). Because in that case you're gonna need an RTX card, and that would mean a 2060 Super, which is probably gonna be around £325 (best case).

Gibbo has announced the BF deals, there is a 5700 for less than 300 but its blower style cooler.

Yeah, but I'm thinking about aib models like Pulse - I should've mentioned that. Granted, if noise isn't much of a concern, the blowers are great deals.

I’d recommend 4K. The new consoles next year will be on par with a 2080ti, and so will manage 4K with console optimisation well, at 60fps and above.

1080 and even 1440 will feel peasant level at that point.

I don't really care about resolution. Red Dead for example looks better at 1080p high/Ultra on my RX590 on my monitor than it does on my One X on my OLED. I care more about textures, subtle detail and more going on in the game world. For example Witcher 3 on the one x the main cities feel empty, bland in comparison to the PC version. As for the new consoles, sure they'll probs let run 30-60fps but will be the lowest settings, what good is 4K when everything is on low and bland compared to 1080p/1440 ultra. PC gaming in 4k is expensive and having used a 4k rig before(2080ti) isn't worth it for me.

I am eyeing up the 5700. Ideally I do want to keep my budget at £300. Sadly I might miss black Friday as my pay falls outside of it.

I think £300 for a 5700 is looking likely, prices are tumbling. A 2060 Super can already be had for £349 and Red Dragon 5700 for £339.
