Currently looking to upgrade a friends PC with a RX590 GPU

If you had a budget of £500 what would you go with ? I was thinking 3060ti but they currently have a 1080P monitor, would you recommend 2K gaming with the 3060ti or keep the 1080P and have the Ray tracing and extra FPS ?

Would they see any difference in the RX590 vs RTX3060ti or worse case a RTX3050 ?

Thanks

You mean the FE, I assume? It's a pretty good buy, the RX 6700 non-XT at £350 is interesting too.

There's a huge difference in performance between the 3050 and the 3060 Ti (the 3050 is barely an upgrade on a 590, tbh), so I'd imagine they would notice (assuming the CPU isn't really slow), even at 1080p. The 3050 just wouldn't be suitable for 1440p gaming for the latest AAA games, but could do it in older games. The 3060 Ti is what I'd call borderline 1440p, since it can often do it well, but is starting to drop off in playability in the more demanding games at high settings.

3060 Ti is so much faster than RX 590 and will get higher FPS at QHD vs the 590 at FHD... get a nice QHD Panel and an RTX 3060 Ti.. imo it is still a great card and can handle 1440p very well

/\/\/\/\ I want that card for the rig I've just built for my sisters youngest boy, I've got my GTX960 in it at the moment for soak testing purposes. I'm due to give said rig to him in a couple of weeks, so Im reluctant to buy that card if its not due in stock between now & then. I know the sapphire version is in stock for £30 more, so I may buy that instead nearer the time.
