Im looking for suggestions for a new motherboard/cpu to upgrade my kids pc, usually we give them the handoffs from our old PCs but itll be a while before I upgrade mine or my wifes PC so looking to get something new that'll be a nice boost for them.
I've got two sticks of 3000mhz RGB id like to still use, and it'll be paired with a Geforce 1650 Super (they only game at 1080p/60)

What CPU would be a good upgrade from the Ryzen 3 1200, last a decent long while but still not break the bank? Im really not clued up on price for performance currently.

Ryzen 5500, not as good as a 5600 but then start from £125. still 6c/12t and won't show any real issues until you hit a GPU like an RTX 3060 vs the 5600.
Looks good and in the right kinda price range, any recommendations for a motherboard to pair with it?
Their entire PC is white so i would love to get a white motherboard but I double ill get any in the cheaper price range im after

They've got an Asrock A320M-DGS AMD A320, I just assumed it wouldnt work (Im so outof the loop lol)
That saves me some money if i can keep using it and just grab a 5500

It's a bit of a waste though, when a motherboard will offer you no extra performance at all. If you were going to drop £70-100 on a motherboard, you'd be better off selling the 1650 Super, and spending the extra against an RTX 2060 or similar on the used market, as at least then there would be a significant performance boost for the money spent.
I mean if the 5500 isnt supported in my current motherboard, I dont mind getting another cheap motherboard. Down the line I'll grab them a new GPU

Dont think either her or the kids would notice any differences, I only upgrade their pcs so theyre not annoyingly slow when i need to (often) fix things theyve broken lol
