Is there any real reason for me to upgrade my current setup? Running 2500k @ 4.4GHz (can go higher but this is a nice low voltage OC). From what little benchies I've seen, there's been barely any speed improvement these last.. 4? generations, but I'm open to more input :)

None.

If you need USB3 you can get a controller card, DDR4 is pointless and you'll likely run into bugs with a new platform right now so it's actually a net loss.

If you can do a cheap upgrade to a good clocking 2700K, might net you a few FPS with that CF setup or do a complete jump to a juicy hex core X99

It depends what your looking from in an upgrade, I went from a 2600k to my 5960x and the difference for me is big enough for me to be happy. Plus I got the 5960X new at a big discount :)

At the moment the x99 5820k is the best choice on the market, pretty much the same price as skylake and just better overall. Intel made a mistake when pricing this cpu as it's the best bang for buck by miles

Agreed completely. I would have got the 5820k but chose the 5960x as I knew the seller and got a massive discount off and new :)

Sandy's still dandy.

It sure is. I was convinced that skylake was going to be a massive upgrade in performance from my 2600k. I'd even spoken to the finance dept (wife) and secured funding for an upgrade :)

Looks like I'll be sticking with my 2600k and Z77 board for a while longer. Just wish it had more than 2 intel sata 3 slots though as I've got 3 SSDs and one is stuck in the asmedia slot which is slower than the intel ones. I also recently bought a GTX980 ti to help my gaming so it's not all bad.

You can always drop a 3770k in there if you get the itch.

The only real reason to upgrade is for chipped features of pcie lanes.
