I have a 32bit install of Vista, but am now looking to install Windows 7 Home Premium.

I've been told its not possible to upgrade from Vista 32bit to 7 64bit, and will need to Format and install from scratch. I have heard (magazine review) that it is possible to do this however, but I think it needs a registry tweak or something.

Can anyone shed any light on how to do this, if indeed its possible?

Also, can I make a copy of my Warhammer online game directory, and expect the game to run, if I have to do a complete win7 install from scratch?

Thanks in advance! ;)

In honest yes its possible but i always find upgrade installs pap much better just wiping and starting again. The Warhammer id be surprised if it does i tried it prev with ut3 it just had a hissy fit lol

Install from scratch, maybe take the opportunity to buy a new boot drive. An SSD or fast modern rotational HDD.

I'm still confused as to how the upgrade disk works compared to full retail, I have XP & it says I need to reformat to install W7.
If it can install on a new drive how can it still be an upgrade & why would I otherwise spend £40 more for the full version, does it still require my XP licence after the install to validate it rather than a new W7 licence with full version?

Clean install may be better. If you do go that route though remember to backup everything! *INCLUDING* remember that some games have a habbit of saving your data in the c:\users folder!
