Am considering upgrading from AM4 to AM5

Am currently running Asus X570-E (series 2) with 32 gb Cas 14 Ddr 3600 and 5900x

Suggestions welcome to move to AM5 - am looking to run a 7800X3D chip - no overclocking

PC used for mainly gaming and web browsing.

Tetras - sorry for the delay in responding to your queries. They gave me food for thought.
In answer:-
1.PCi-E 5 - not important at moment but may be one day
2. 3 x m2 - Sata ok if included but I do not use at moment
3. I use a soundblaster z sound card hooked to a logitech 5.1 speaker system so that at the moment I have no use for SPDIF
4. I use both 1gb and 2.5 gb lan and find that they both work well . WiFi I do not use at the moment as am cabled BUT useful to have

PCI-E 5.0 SSD you can get even on some of the more affordable boards like the TUF B650-Plus. PCI-E 5.0 graphics, I'd look at the B650E-F Strix, there's a fair few owners of this board on the forum.

2. 3 x m2 - Sata ok if included but I do not use at moment
So long as you avoid the cheapest/lowest-end B650 boards, 3x M.2 is fairly common.

This is a problem, 2x LAN is very rare nowadays.

I only know of two boards with 2x LAN:
X670E Steel Legend (2.5Gb & 1Gb)
B650 Creator (2.5Gb & 1Gb)

3. I use a soundblaster z sound card hooked to a logitech 5.1 speaker system so that at the moment I have no use for SPDIF
The B650 Creator has a baby PCI-E 1x slot that is a decent distance from the primary PCI-E, so I think you could use that. The 3rd PCI-E full length slot shares bandwidth with the 3rd M.2 slot, so that would be unsuitable.

X670E Steel Legend has a baby PCI-E 1x slot, but it looks closer to the primary PCI-E than the Creator (might just be my eyes), but you can use the bottom full-length slot on this board, with (so far as I can see, I haven't studied the manual) no impact on any M.2 slots.

My fault for confusing matters - I have both 1gb and 2.5gb lan on my existing motherboard and have tried both BUT not simultaneously !

The asus B650-E looks very similar to my existing X570-E Asus board just a bit cheaper :) I have enjoyed my 570 board excepting that it only has 2 x m2 slots so the newer B650 solves that problem

Thanks for the input!!

FYI: the bottom slot on the B650E-F shares bandwidth with the 3rd M.2 slot, but I don't think the little 1 lane slots share with anything. So, you should be fine with your soundblaster, so long as the graphics card isn't HUGE.

I have an Asus B650E-E and a SoundBlaster Z in the bottom PCIe slot. Been using it for over a year and only issue so far is the NIC did not like my router (VM Hub 3), got a Hub 5 now and it’s been fine.

I must have been asleep! to miss the incoming Zen5 CPU's and possible new motherboards.

Do like the look of 9900x and 9800x (am currently running 5900x).

Will wait for reviews and review motherboard choice once we have more details (spec and prices).
