Hey all

I have an X850XT running in AGP and want to get a PCI-E card (I have a dual motherboard) to tide me over about 6 months until I have a completely new vista / dx10 system.

Im currently torn between the budget 7900GS and the budget X1950Pro as being in the right price range.

My CPU is an AMD 64 3700, 2 gigs ram etc. - for high end games like oblivion I think an upgrade for such a short period would be worthwhile and I could justify it as a christmas pressie to myself.

Thoughts on the best card?

Cheers.

In your situation, I'd get the OCuk 7900GS 512MB. Sounds like you can have fun overclocking & playing & benching that card, until you do a full VISTA/DX10 rebuild.

I have an x850xt and have elected to get the Sapphire ULTIMATE 1950pro as an upgrade to tide me over before getting a whole new vista/dx10 system next year.
