I've got a project PC going which has an AMD FM2+ system. I've just done a little upgrade changing from a AMD A8 PRO 8650B cpu to an AMD A10 8750B CPU. The differences are:

Pro 8650B8750B
Cores/Threads4/44/4
TDP65 Watts65 Watts
Base Clock3.2GHz / 3.9GHz3.6GHz / 4GHz
Cache L22x 2MB2x 2MB
InstructionsThe sameThe same
RAM Speed (max and what I am using)2133MHz2133Mhz
GPU Shader Cores384 (6 "G Cores")512 (8 "G Cores")
GPU clock / Memory clockOC to 900MHz and 1066MHz Mem clock (i.e. RAM speed)OC to 900MHz and 1066MHz Mem clock (i.e. RAM speed)

i.e. the only difference is that it it has 2 more graphics cores (which I think in real terms is the shader cores increasing) which is why I bought it as it should be a moderate (potentially 25%) increase in performance for very little money considering it's a project PC.

But I am seeing slightly reduced framerates in all my tests when using the 8750B. This is after a clean install of Windows 7 too with the latest drivers. The GPU cores clock up to 900MHz when under load and the memory core is reporting 1066MHz. The CPU will clock up to 3.8GHz when I'm doing zipping tasks or whatever but in graphics benchmarks it doesn't clock beyond 2.5GHz. Although I'm not sure if the other chip did that too. The CPU is at around 62c when zipping at 3.8GHz on all 4 cores.

Any ideas on what is causing the chip to perform slower?
