Hi there,

Its been a long time :) I have quite an old gaming PC(5-6 years old)

Noiseblocker BlackSilent Pro Fan PLPS - 120mm PWM
Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020048-UK)
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
HDD HD-168-SA Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic
MSI Radeon R9 290X "BF4 Edition" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
TeamGroup Vulcan GOLD 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit MB-438-GI Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard HS-080-AK
Akasa AK-CC4008HP01 Venom Voodoo CPU Cooler
Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor
Stage 2 Intel: Overclock of CPU - 4.3GHz Overclock - Haswell K Edition Processors Only

It runs most things pretty well(1920x1200, medium to high settings depending on the game), but i would like to give it a boost, ideally just replacing the graphics card(will i be severely limited by my CPU?) what can you guys recommend for a good performance boost with this set up(budget 200-300ish)?

EDIT: What about this? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...ess-graphics-card-11276-02-40g-gx-38f-sp.html or this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/powe...ress-graphics-card-stand-alone-gx-18v-pc.html
is anything better around the same price and will work ok with this spec?

thanks a lot,

cpu is okay. gpu would give a nice boost, as you've already alluded to.

the sapphire vega 56 is a nice card and cooler.

the powercolor vega 64 you linked has better performance, but comes at a cost of heat and power consumption. with a cheapo older psu that you have, probably wouldn't run a vega 64 on that.
also it is a stock blower cooler = noisy.

tl;dr - sapphire vega56 is probably the better all-rounder buy

Thanks Tamzzy, so the Vega 56 is the best card around this price point? No equivelant nvidia cards worth looking at?
