Upgrade Graphics Card

There isn't really an upgrade path right now from a 290, unless you were going crossfire. 290X/780Ti are upgrades but barely worth the change really, might be best to hold on until the next series from AMD/Nvidia start to appear.
 
Really the only card's that would make a notable upgrade would be the 295x2 or a titan z and both blow your budget away tbh selling your current card to go for either imo is silly ,, keep what you have, if you want more performance get another for Crossfire
