Hi guys,

I want to upgrade my hard drive in my Macbook pro, at the minute it has a 120gb drive and not much space left.

Can anyone suggest a quick but quiet drive to upgrade to, 250gb+ ?

Thanks

Just picked up one of the WD 320gb 7200rpm drives for my macbook pro :)

Got myself a mini screwdriver and a mini torx screwdriver set of the bay ready for the big day. Drive should be here monday all being well, will fit it monday night and report back, my MBP is the 2.4Ghz penryn one.

Same MBP as me, upgraded my HDD a few weeks ago.

It's pretty easy :)

Could you confirm what speed your fans idle with this HD fitted (e.g.via istat) please?
Did you notice any noise increase after fitment?

Yeah Sure:

Left Fan: 1998rpm
Right Fan: 2001rpm

Taken from iStat TBH i have noticed no difference in temps, noise or battery consumption since fitting this drive, it's great.

Thanks mate.
I'm getting the same speed on tick over and a steady temp with the WD HD. Yet a hum is present as well as what sounds like an increase in fan noise (see my thread).
