Upgrade Hardware

Hi All I upgrade my Mobo, CPU, ram and Harddrive and decided a clean install. Now I installed window 10 home and use my usename and password to log in ok. But it says it cannot actvate. Any reasons why?
I'm sure it was window 10 home I had before. it defo was not pro.

Your need to buy a new version of windows 10 its tied to your old hardware. you can pick up a license on fleebay.

That not true as it turned out. After searching on google all i had to do was Enter my Window 8 key and it worked and actvated it.
