Upgrade help £500

Hey,

I feel like upgrading my current rig. I fancy an ssd if possible too.

Current spec is;

Q6600 @ 3600mhz
4gb corsair xms2
Gigabyte p35cds3r
Asus ati 5850
Corsair 520w psu
2 wd aaks in raid 0

Im a little out of touch with current trends so what would you suggest as a £500 upgrade with ssd? Would need a new cooler too, i fancy the noctua d14.

tbh your systems still pretty good, maybe just get the SSD and cooler and leave the rest for now? As if you try to do cpu/mobo/ram/cooler/SSD youre not going to get the biggest SSD in the world

You'd see some gains going to i5, but it wouldnt be massive, imo not worth the additional cost

I was having this thought earlier and it seems very wise considering.

Is that vertex the ssd to have atm? how about the bigfoot?

Can my mobo handle an ssd effectivly? Ive been meaning to change it for a while as it was a stopgap replacement but has served me well.

how does the fenrir rate to the noctua?
