Upgrade Help/Info

Hey, i'm new to this site and have been browsing around but haven't found anything that is straight forward enough to help me.
I'm currently running:

ASRock 4Core1333-GLAN Motherboard
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
2gb 667mhz and 2gb 800mhz Ram
Geforce 8500GT 1024mb
450W very budget psu

I have been searching for a while for upgrades but i'm really not sure what to buy
as i use my computer mainly for gaming.
If I were to get faster ram or a better processor i would need a new motherboard. If I were to get a better graphics card I would probably need a new power supply.
My budget for upgrades varies but the max it could be is about £400.

Not on target but you get the idea, Oc that CPU too mate. I'm not up on all the Intel motherboards so I went for a good one.

Those look good but ill have to look at my budget, also the overclocking I need to do but I only have a stock cooler and no extra fans. Would it not also be a good idea to buy an i7 or is the Q6600 oc good enough

You can get that build price down mate it's just the first i came up with to add a nice cooler. As for i7 it would be great but I think you'll need to look at your budget for that.
