upgrade help please ^^;

looking to upgrade to a quad core next month, but first i'm looking to upgrade my ram, any suggestions on which i should go for? looking for 4gb total.

was under the impression that 2 x 2gb would be better than 4 x 1gb...
if i'm wrong.. then nothing at all ^^.

When using 4 sticks it puts slightly more stress on the northbridge and can require extra voltage. i'm running some ballistix 4x1GB at 1000Mhz (800 rated) with only +0.1v to the northbridge. So doesn't make a huge difference for me.

Also looking at some of the memory the 2GB sticks sometimes have slightly looser timings, so something to look out for.
