Upgrade help? What’s the issue

Hi All

my son has an Accer Nitro N50-110
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3500 Processor
  • RAM: 8 GB / Storage: 1 TB HDD
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB
i have upgraded the RAM to 16gb as he was complaining that it was lagging. It’s hard wired to a 200mb internet. He has his graphics card turned down and still struggles to play games like fortnight.

what should we be looking to change next? I can put more RAM in or would a better graphics card be the answer?

It’s his first PC so didn’t spend a fortune but thought we could upgrade as he used it more.
 
3500 and 1650 should have no problem running Fortnite...

As Micky mentions be helpful to know what resolution he’s playing at, does it have an SSD, and what FPS is he actually achieving?

Presumably also checked no viruses, spyware or malware on the system?

Edit: Oh god just found that system at a popular retailer. £699!? 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD, no SSD if it’s the same... that’s sacrilege for no SSD :( An SSD would really help...

What SSD would people recommend? Also would a GeForce RTX™ 2060 fit as a direct replacement for the current GeForce GTX 1650?
