I wand to change the video card to start with i have been looking at ATI cards the 1800XT looks a nice card and a nice price at the moment.

But keep getting told the 7600GT and 7900GT are better,
Also I will add more mem just another gig.

My other thing I need advice on is HD choice
I work as a professional Photographer and I want

Welcome to the forums, anyone who tells you that the 7600gt is better than an X1800XT is simply wrong, it is quite demonstrably not true, sorry but there is absolutely no way that it is possible beyond maybe on power consumption and that doesn't really matter here. A 7900gt and X1800XT are pretty close performance-wise but the X1800XT can do AA and HDR together if that matters.

2gb of Geil Value is a good choice if you want 2gb Ram.

Hard drive wise I'd probably be looking at Western Digital, Hitachi or Samsung. Any one of them ought to be sufficient :)

Agreed. The X1800XT is far better than a 7600GT & slightly quicker than a 7900GT. The X1800XT is the right card at the right price as far as i am concerned.

As for HDD, either Samsung or WD.
