I have decided to upgrade and get the Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6600 2.40GHz Retail / Gigabyte 965P DS3 / 2GB Corsair XMS2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle

I have heard these CPU's overclock really well, but how easy will it be with the motherboard and ram it comes with in the bundle? Also what cooler would you recomend? Or shall I stick to the stock cooler? I am new to overclocking so don't know much about it.

Thanks

Don't buy that bundle if you are looking for an overclock.

The DS3 is only 1066MHz FSB, for another £5 you can get the DS3P which comes with all the DS3's problems fixed and a better bios and ontop of all that, 1333MHz FSB.

Again overclocking wise, the Crucial Ballistix PC5300 which is 667MHz at stock can be clocked well above 1000MHz with ease. Its the same stuff as the PC8500 but at a lower stock clock.

If your looking for good overclocking then something more along these lines:

Mobo: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-076-GI

CPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-128-IN

RAM: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-088-CR

Cooler: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-002-NC

That CPU will easily clock to 3.6GHz with that cooler, and the ram above 1000Mhz.
