Hi people,

Really need some help with an upgrade option and i'm stuck in two minds, maybe its some money burning a hole in my pocket but I fancy a change.

Its just for gaming, really looking forward to bad Company 2 the beta is rocking, bringing back the BF2 memorys

Current setup

Core 2 Due E8400 (stock)
4g Geil memory
ATI 4890

Thinking of getting

i5 750 (would look to overclock 3.5?)
4g OCZ Gold
Zalman cnps 10x cooler
Everything else the same,

Advice is welcome
Nice one

I could do i guess comes back to the buring hole issue, lots of talk of a quad helping out big time with Bad Company 2, the two minds comes down to is it talk or is there a real gain with a quad as i will be living on that game when it comes out.

Hard to know how much a quad wil benefit in bfbc2, as all thats available currently is the beta of the game. If your motherboard supports quads, a good option is to source a cheap quad, though expect to pay about £90.00 for a 65nm q6600, £120.00 for an EO stepping q9550.

Thanks, helped me to keep my money in my pocket for now, think i will wait for the final game to go live and see how it holds up, then make a plan.

Nice one Setter!

Hello EL_JOCK,

I just looked at the Battlefield Bad Company 2 website but can't find the system requirements. I would search the internet for several reviews before splurging. Some people may tell you it needs a quad core but that in no way means you need a quad core . . . do the homework yourself, your quite smart!

Agree with Big Wayne, as its only a beta out at the minute, its not good to make a decision on. Im holding out for the final release of the game. Sadly im graphics card limited now as im only on an 8800gt, quite a drop from a gtx 280.:(

Hi,

Yeah had a look around, main source of information is out the PC games section with people talking about setups working well with the beta, but thats why i was in two minds over the buring hole issue is it talk or real, due to setter's help i will leave it for now, only 28 days to the final product goes live so think i can wait and see how my CPU holds out.

Thanks for the input
