right now i've got a q6600 at 3.00 and 4 gig ddr2 and a crappy 250gb hard drive (for os and games) on a p45 m/b, thinking of getting:

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66GHz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) OEM £167.99

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £156.98

Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Low Latency Tri-Channel (PVT36G1600LLK) £149.99

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD1002FAEX) £76.59

total: £576.11

Or would this be better:

*OVERCLOCKED* Intel Core i7 930 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz / Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard / Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel DDR3 Bundle

total £599.98

and get the hard drive later (for sake of guaranteed 4ghz)

buget is £600 and i use my system for abit of everything (gaming, encoding, 3d stuff).

thxs

i dont think i can get any more out of my chip :( my q6600 needs too much voltage, the board is solid its just my cpu thats lacking.

*edit its a p35 not 45 (p35 abit xe pro) it takes 1.4050 to keep my chip at 3006 dont think i can up it to the voltage required for 3600
