Long story short, got scammed on e-bay, get refunded tomorrow, want new pc parts, had these in mind, but!

my budget is like, £488 and the parts I want come to just over that at like £500'ish.

Keyboard: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-054-RA
PSU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-005-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1497
GPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-271-SP
Monitor: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-049-DE

total including shipping: £490.04 -_-..

I'd be willing to sacrifice parts, but the monitor, that's something I really like.

Any thoughts on change guys?

Thanks.

any reason your looking to match that gfx card up with that monitor, seems a bit overkill for the resolution available.

have you had a go one on the keyboards ?

I recently purchased a Logitech G19, it was a lovely keyboard, but I soon got rid of it after purchase after I realised I'd rather have that keyboard instead, I have not had a go on it myself, but I've heard they're rather amazing.

The monitor is one that I've had my eye on for a while, now I do prefer having 1920x1080 but I recently had a 1920x1080 but it broke, I like the look of this monitor it looks sleek/very nice and the price is quite astounding.

I'm in desperate need of a new keyboard and I like to keep up to date with modern technologies, I've currently got a Razer Lycosa, but the thing is it's wearing out, keys have got the black finish wearing away due to excessive use and what not, and also on occasion I have to unplug & replug it in to stop it messing up and stuff.

I was looking at this initially:

or

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-039-CS

but they do seem somewhat expensive >.<

i'd be wary if you haven't tried one then, should be ok, but a lot of money to spend and find out you don't like it.

you spend upward of £300/400 on the mobo/processor/gfx card and you could lose all that with a bad psu, so to spend £80/90 to protect your investment makes sense.

With these new parts my spec would be:

Intel core i5 750 @ 3.0GHz
8GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
6950 2GB

The 750w would power that with ease wouldn't it? or could I even go to a good 650w?

What do you think?

Last time I visited it was in the £105 region, but I think that was due to the fact that it was infact on sale, :/, disappointing that it still isn't.

I spend a lot of time on my keyboard, I game a lot so therefore I need a good keyboard, I think going all out on a keyboard is somewhat of quite a vital buy for me, if there are any better keyboards out there, then by all means, but so far what I'm going to be getting seems like the following:

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 "Dual Fan Edition" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE DIRT3 & Deus Ex Games - £199.99

Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - £114.98

Dell IN2020N 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black - £95.99

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CMPSU-750TXV2UK) - £85.99

Total: £511.06 (with shipping)

Maybe someone will post a better keyboard, but I see none on the market at the moment.

i'd have a look around, i had a quick glance and there seems to be thoughts/issues about the type of switch used on the razer, as in nosier and not the best for a gaming keyboard.

didn't really go into the guts of the details but might be worth a look around, something i saw similarly priced was the Rosewill RK-9000.

I have heard mixed reviews from it myself to be honest and owning a razer lycosa currently, I'm not sure if I actually want one now, :/ I guess I'll look around and hopefully find a better gaming keyboard, I'll take a look at this rosewll!

Thanks for the links, I've replaced the corsair with the Antec Truepower now, modular always seems like the way to go in my opinion and it's got good reviews, lets hope it lives up to it's potential.

I'd opt in for that graphics card but I just cannot afford that extra £40'ish x.x

Personally, I swear by my Saitek Eclipse, my next keyboard to replace it, should it die, will be the Saitek Cyborg V5, which other than a red backlight (instead of blue) looks identical.

Simple keyboard but with a good weight (1.1Kg) for aforementioned burglar clubbing capability. No funky key placement, and only additional buttons for volume and backlight brightness.

I don't need or want additional programmable keys, usb hub, etc so this keyboard is perfect for me.

I'll look into that right now and see what it's like.
What is it like to type on? does it feel like a nice keyboard to type on? I'd hate to get a keyboard that makes it awkward to type on.

edit:

the look of it, I don't really like it, but it's cheap and would save me quite a bit of money, hmm.

I love the keyboard and it's great to type on, but with any input or output device it's a very subjective thing, so only your opinion really matters.

It is cheap(er) though, and the saving would get you the graphics card mentioned above, which I think is a way better use of the cash.

That is quite true, I would love to get a good keyboard for a more affordable price, the better GPU is the better way to go I think.

Oops, didn't fact check enough.
That was for the non-ultimate edition, I was confused by the pictures being exactly the same. £110 looks like the going rate for the 'ultimate version'

Just to confuse you further you can get that Razer keyboard for £70 from a couple of other reputable sites, with free delivery.

They are a little ambiguous as to whether that includes VAT or not, but its either a cheaper price, or way cheaper..

Indeed, I do want the keyboard, although it kind of baffles me that you're paying basically £40+ more for backlighting, usb ports and audio/headphone jacks, a bit pathetic if you ask me, yes it's a wonderful keyboard but for that price? grr, not sure.

Wish it was on offer, lol
