Hello.

I'm looking to upgrade my system that I bought back in 2010. I have about £200 - £300 as a budget.

The current specs are:
Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz @ 3.80GHz
Asus p7p55d-e
Corsair Memory XMS3 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz
GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
500GB HardDrive
650W Corsair PSU

I've started noticing frame rate drops in newer titles like Bioshock: infinite and Crysis 3 and with battlefield 4 around the corner I feel like it's time for an upgrade! Any help would be much appreciated :)

With Haswell and it's new socket just around the corner i would'nt change the cpu/mobo. I will probably keep mine for quite a while yet.

You could replace the GTX480 with a 7950, 8gb or ram and a SSD for a performance boost. Just don't stick the SSD on the awful Marvell controller. Despite what they say it is no-where near Sata 3 speeds. Stick with the Intel sata 2 ports.

Wow very quick replies, thank you :)

The CPU cooler I have is a "Akasa AK-CCX-4002HPV2 Venom CPU Cooler"

So a 7950 would be best for my price range then?
I think I would probably prefer brand new items if its a matter of a few extra pound.

The Msi at £220 is a good price. Sell the 480 and put the money towards Cpu+mobo upgrade.

Fair enough.

Almost in the same boat. I would get RAM and GPU, After that I would very quickly consider investing in an SSD.

I didn't know a 480 could play Crysis 3 at all? I didn't think Dx11 was supported on the older series?

Maybe it was the 2xx series that got bummed out of that deal.
