I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, Mobo and RAM as i haven upgraded these parts for around 5 years, maybe more.

My current set up is as follows:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3701 Mhz, 4 Core
RAM: Kingston Hyper X 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Budget is £600 - £700.

Currently have a 1440p monitor, i would like to upgrade the above for a 4K monitor in the future.

Any advice is much appreciated.

No sense to upgrade that graphics card until later this year when there's hopefully similar competition in them as in CPUs.

For any kind staying in higher end Ryzen 3700X is bang per buck choise

MSI B450 Tomahawk is good board for 8 cores.

Though for CPU upgrade to 12 core CPUs to maximize life without big upgrades strong VRM X570 board could be considered.

2x8GB memory would be definite minimum.
Though can see heavier future games demanding more.
So if you would like that to last well 2x16GB could be good choise.
(memory is also well priced at the moment)

Also suspect SSD is tiny and new drive would be needed.
Or do you have some decent SSD capacity?
