I'm currently running an old Geforce 6800 gt 256 mb. I'm considering upgrading real soon to one of the below cards. I'm not a PC gamer so don't really need the power that the 8800 gts will give me...but what I'd like to know is :
1. How much faster will the BFG 9600 gt 512mb be than my 6800gt?
2. Same question for the BFG 8800 gts 512mb?
3. Lastly, how much faster will the 8800 gts be than the 9600 gt?

Other than web usage my main PC use is home video editing.

Thanks.

Pinnacle studio plus 11.
I'm upgrading the card now as I have the cash and need to make the jump from agp to pci express. After my summer holiday (when more funds will be available) I'm doing a system overhaul and trading my old dual core amd 4400 skt 939 to the overclocked q6600 which is part of the bundle offering here

I know that the 8800 gts is 9.5 inches long but how long is the BFG 9600gt?

Can anyone with a good knowledge of the above cards give me an indication as to how much more powerful they will be over a 6800gt please? I'm hoping to order this evening.
Thanks, appreciate your help

Thanks hp7909, I was aware that both the 9600 and 8800gts were faster than the 6800gt but what I'm after is an indication as to whether they are 2 or 3 times faster or whatever. The link you kindly provided didn't include the 9600 to compare against (unless I can't see for looking). I think it was an old(ish) chart.

Ok, thanks all for your replies.
@mrthingyx, whilst I'm grateful for you looking out for me, my current mobo is the asrock dual sata 939, it has an agp slot and a pcie slot. I'm ok on that front.
I've ordered the 9600gt, should be with me soon. Shame the wife is keeping it and my HP 22" monitor from me until my birthday on 9th April :-(
