Upgrade - i7 950 to what?

Hey all

I think its time for an upgrade and im looking for some advice on the best upgrades for my money. Budget is about £600 maybe pushed to £700 for that i am looking for a Cpu, motherboard, ram, cooler and a SSD drive.

The computer will be used for gaming, photo and video editing and maybe some game streaming as well.

I haven't upgraded for a while except for the GPU and the i7 950 is now becoming rather old although still does perform good it may well just be time for a upgrade.

Any help appreciated and thanks in advance.
 
Currently the 950 is a still a good chip, any upgrade (while being an improvement) it's really worth the money.

An SSD is the only thing we'd suggest, just for boot times. :)

What cooler do you currently have? You can get one so you can OC your 950 a little more (and be able to use when you finally get a new motherboard/CPU).

I will invest in a SSD and see how that goes.

My cpu cooler is a Promlimatech Megahalems with a noctua NF-P12 fan on it.
 
That's a good cooler.

The higher you push your OC the better performance you'll get, so if you can push it a little more that'll help. :)
