upgrade ideas.

Hi guys. I am thinking about upgrading my pc but would like a few sugestions as to which way to go.

Current spec is i7-2600k. / Asrock z68 extreme 4 gen 3. / radeon 6970 2gb GFX card / 8gb Gskill 1600 ddr3. / samsung 480 250gb ssd. Plus other storage disks. + custom/wc for cpu / gpu.

Budget is £400 - 500. So any sugestions would be great.

I use the pc for some light gameing and photo work with a fair bit of converting movies and home videos.

I would keep the i7 and look to upgrade your GPU and or PSU and if you have any cash left over, maybe some additional RAM.

Light gaming, what games are you playing & at what res?

If you haven't already overclock the i7. Another 8gb of RAM would help with converting videos etc (depending on the program used to do the converting)

Other than that I can't really see anything else to upgrade except perhaps the GPU as Snips has already mentioned.

Or spend the whole budget on a serious monitor upgrade, again depending on what you already have

If you were doing any more than light gaming, I'd suggest a 290 + water block plus another 8GB of ram for your photo/video stuff.

Thanks. I will get more ram and may look at upgradeing the card + block next.
