Hi all, i have the following system and I am looking to upgrade HDD/SSD, wrong place i know but hopefully you will see why i posted here and not in storage drives.

Intel I5 3570l 1155
Gigabyte Z77-D3H
HIS HD7850 GDDR5 2048mb
Corsair vengeance (2x4gb) DDR3 1600mhz
Win 7 64bit
Intel 330 120gb SSD
2 x Seagate barracuda 1tb (1 back up)

I use the PC mainly for gaming, media centre and also use Revit and CAD2013 quite a bit.

I have £300 and was going to purchase a Samsung EVO 840 SSD 1TB to install Steam, CAD and REVIT on and use the SSD i have for windows ONLY with the seagate used for films, music and documents etc?

Now is the reason why here and not storage devices, would it make more sense to install a 128gb MSATA SSD for windows, fill the current SSD with Steam, Revit and CAD and put the money left over into something else for the system?

Many thanks in advance

Chris

the processor, memory and board are fine for gaming.

so what your thinking of doing is getting another 128GB msata SSD for the OS and then using the intel SSD to store everything on and using the left over funds else where?

what games do you play? do you find any struggling with FPS at all?

only thing I can see that might b worth upgrading is the GPU.

I have a i7 950 @ 4ghz and just put in a 970 and its so much better in gaming

I would probably look at getting a secondhand 3770K and pick up a cheap 280X. Sell your chip and Gpu. With the money from the sale and what's left from the 300, you could probably get a decent 256GB ssd and maybe another 8GB ram.

FPS, driving games like Project Cars or Assetto Corsa or simulator games. No dont seem to struggle with FPS but i play on the household TV at 1080p 60mhz so dont think i would notice?

Thanks for this, where is a good place to sell PC components? I dont have any luck on gumtree and dont believe i qualify for the buy/sale on here?
