Doing a small and cheap upgrade to the desktop with the current specification :

E6600
PB5 deluxe
2GB 800mhz
8800GTS 512mb

Pretty old specification now but currently suits my needs of light gaming, auto-cad google and sketch up. Waiting for the COH and Generals next year for the big big upgrade

Just bought windows 7 pro upgrade edition and a Q6600 and 4gb of ram off mm. I need a new wireless adapter and got this in the basket - TP-Link 300Mbps High-Gain Wireless-N USB Adapter. Thinking along the lines of a SSD would it even work with my mobo? Anything else which i could upgrade ?

imo, i'd say if your current rig is fine, then save the 120 quid and dont upgrade
and there's no point getting win 7 pro if you're already using win 7 home

samsung 830 vs crucial m4
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/533?vs=425

reliability wise, intel is the best, but cruical and samsung are not far behind
performance wise, samsung comes out on top

price v performance v reliability
i'd pick samsung 830 any day
others may pick the m4

but tbh, you cant go wrong with either the 830/m4, just pick the cheapest on the day
which happens to be the 830 anyway ;p
