So I have been quietly trying to bide my time until Haswell comes out before I upgrade, however with the amount of deals on at the moment the itch just HAS to be scratched, so I'm thinking of ordering the following to keep me going.
YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Black £79.98
1 x EVGA SuperNova NEX 650W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £74.99
1 x DEMCiflex Dustfilter Set for NZXT Phantom 410 - Black/Black £44.99
1 x Phanteks PH-TC12DX CPU Cooler - Black (Socket 775 / 1150 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £44.98
1 x Foam Silencing Kit - NZXT Phantom 410 £24.98
1 x Akasa AK-TC TIM Clean CPU & Heatsink Cleaner £5.99
Total : £290.90 (includes shipping : £12.50).

However I do of course have some questions:
1. Are there any incompatibilities with the basket and my current setup?
2. The CPU cooler states that you need the stock backplate, I'm guessing means I can mount it even on my derpy little OEM motherboard? :D
3. Are the DEMCiflex filters worth it? I'm a bit over-budget with this and taking those or the cooler off would put me just about back within budget :p
4. Of course, are there any improvements you guys could make to the upgrade? ;)

Haha yeah, but that would be the sensible option , also the case, PSU + filters are on offer. Too many temptations, frankly even this is rather restricted compared to what I was originally going to order :D

tbh if its all on offer and you also get the 7.5% off then there is no reason not too and then all you will need is ram, the motherboard, cpu and a g-card whenever haswell comes out although you could get the g-card now and get 7.5% off it, just a though might save you 30ish quid

My 6850 does the job for now, and I'll probably wait for the next-gen graphics cards to come out before I upgrade that too :)

Still thinking about dropping either the dust filters or the CPU cooler to bring me back towards the budget, but I need the CPU cooler so I don't have to deal with the stock cooler going into hairdryer mode whenever the temps go over 60c, and the dust filters just seem like a general good idea considering how quickly dust accumulates in my current case. :p

I'll update this post with a pic of the backplate in a mo just to make sure it IS the stock one and not something else that comes with this board :)

I'll see what I can do, it's a bit untidy in there (no cable management holes) and I can't remove the stock cooler as I haven't got any TIM (or TIM cleaner) spare, so I'll have a look inside once I've finished my food :p

Alas, a bit late. Ordered everything now. I know Seasonic is better, but this PSU is certainly no slouch - 80+ Gold, fully modular and a 5 year warranty that is extendable to 10 years ;)

Thanks for all the help guys :D

10 year warranty...worth then 10 years down the line if it breaks you basically get a new up to date power supply effectively but they are so confident in itt that they could extend it to 10 years means they are sure their product will work

So a couple of days later, everything has arrived and is now installed in the new case. :)

However.. I have a slight problem. The fans on my new CPU cooler aren't spinning, they just judder every couple of seconds, I have a feeling it is related to them not getting enough power from the motherboard (there are 2 fans connected via Y-splitter to the CPU fan header) however I would like confirmation of the issue :p

It's not a HUGE problem though to be honest, I just ran Prime95 for a couple of minutes and the temps didn't even go above 50c :D

OK, so during the day it would seem the CPU temps are a bit higher :p.
Currently seeing a max of 56c during games, so I would really like a bit of insight into the problem before I start fiddling with things. :)

So I ended up having a fiddle with things anyways, I tried powering one fan on the header and this time it does about half a spin before stopping. Anyone have any suggestions for a solution?

Edit: After a bit more googling, it would seem the problem is related to the 4pin fan not playing nice with the 3pin header, even though it should. Any solution for this?
