So I've just bought a GTX 670 to replace my old GTX 480 and now im thinking what else i could do to refresh/rebuild my old system. I am running a p67 board (MSI p67a GD53) and an i5 2500k @4.3 GHZ and a Corsair HX 620w (this is pretty old but still going strong, powered my system with an overclocked GTX 480 in it no problem).

Do you think its worth going for a new mobo/CPU combo? The p67a chipset is pretty old hat these days right?

Yeah your mobo is a bit old but the 2500k is a still a strong chip.. I'm still happy with mine..

Maybe more of an overclock will help..

What cooler do you have?

You could change your motherboard to something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £45.95
Total : £55.85 (includes shipping : £8.25).

Silly cheap price.. Just to give your 2500k more OC potential.

Will that motherboard help give more overclocking potential? unfortunately my chip isnt the greatest of clockers. 4.3GHZ and i need 1.32 volts. Im using a Zalman CNPS10X Extreme. keeps things under 65 degrees under load and in summer heat so its not too bad. I have been tempted by those cheap corsair watercooled refurbs though. I'm just paranoid about leakage...

Agreed. I wouldn't get those refurb water coolers. Never ,never refurb always buy new when buying all in one water cooler. They have had some report leaks already.
