Upgrade Key with Retail Disk? (Win 7 Prof)

Ok, so I lost my win7 upgrade disk for my laptop running vista HP, but I do still have the product key it came with.

I do have a full retail disk that I used for my Desktop, so can I use this with the Upgrade key? They are both Windows 7 professional versions.

On another note, I bought the upgrade via Ultimate steal as 32 bit. Obviously with the retail disks I have 32 and 64. Is the key I have for the upgrade 32 bit specific or will it work for both 32 and 64?

The same key works for both, in retail.

If the upgrade is OEM for the lappy, and the other version is retail, then there will be 2 different keys, one for each.

The Student Upgrade key will work with a Retail DVD and you can install 32 or 64 bit.

I found the disk eventually and for compatibility I think I'm going to go with 32 bit. Some programs I use don't seem to like 64 bit on my desktop.
