Upgrade Monitor or GPU First

Okay here's the deal. I really want to upgrade my monitor, currently using Samsung 2032BW (1680x1050). I want to get a large 1440p for general PC use but the problem is my graphics card.

Is it wise to get a 1440p monitor and stick with 660GTX. Or would you upgrade GPU first? Truth is, i don't really play that much on my PC, some BF4 and Ghosts whenever I have the time. Rest of the time I prefer my PS4.

I wouldn't mind play at 1080p as long as it looks fine.

1440p is about twice as many pixels as you have just now so you will be looking at approx 50% drop in fps.

Ghosts would just about cope with it i think as played at 1440p with just one 6970 but cant comment about bf4...prob wont be pretty

Get the monitor first seems pointless upgrading your graphics card if you prefer the PS4.
