Hello new friends--my first time here so excuse posting this here, but couldn't find an exact spot! Please correct me if wrong.
The problem--
I need to use 2 Monitors from a single PC. I have two Desktops----an HP Pavilion t3550 and a Fujitsu-Siemens P5905. Both have only a single VGA connector. Both are also pretty slow now, and I only use the Fj. Windows 7 Ultimate. I want to replace MB, and Graphics, which means also a new PSU--present only 300W. Thought of using a Renkforce Tuning set,-- Asrock H81 M-HDS HD 4400 Graphics (Micro ATX) with DDR3 4GB RAM or similar-- AMD FX 4300- as the basis,-- I think the Pavillion case would be the easier to upgrade--more room, as the Fj is pretty tight inside. Also want to keep Windows 7 at present--but maybe upgrade to W10 at some stage-
How do I match up a suitable Graphics Card, PSU, (maybe a Thermaltake "Hamburg" 530 W ?) --Sound Card? Wireless Card? Wlan presently an older Fritzbox --(7141)- etc. I want to do this myself, but have absolutely no experience. I am a "silver surfer"---no gamer--no interest in such. What I want is a faster, and more reliable setup than at present. The mechanics of fitting is no problem--putting the right setup together is. Appreciate any help / suggestions.
much appreciated. Robert

Hi and welcome.

Those systems look pretty old and are not really worth investing much money in. You are really looking at a complete new system.

But, if you did still want to persist with them there a couple of fairly cheap upgrades you could make.

1, get a SSD drive like the Samsung 850 EVO or Crucial BX200. These will make a dramatic difference in your boot and load times and make the system feel more responsive.

2, get Geforce GT610/GT720 graphics card. This will give you the additional monitor outputs you are after.

3, claim your free upgrade to Windows 10. It's a little bit more efficient than Windows 7.

Upgrades

Hi Rodt99
Thanks, appreciate your comment,
I know the systems are old--I indicated as much. What I want to do is keep the Pavillion Case, but change the MoBo, Upgrade the Memory--to 8GB DDR3--the Graphic Card, to improve Video/ Photo work, the PSU to cover any higher requirement than 300W for the Graphics. Intend installing an SSD 120GB anyway. Don't want to upgrade to Windows 10 just yet.
Now looking at Gigabyte-GA-78LMT-USB3,(55€) an AMD FX 6300 Processor,
incl. Fan,(110€). Graphics Card, GT730 2GB---(65€) Min PSU Wattage 300w--so up to 430w, Thermaltake Munich PSU (45 €).
This Gigabyte board has 4 DDR3 slots --what would be the best config of 8GB RAM---4 x 2 GB?

thanks Robert
