Hi all,
So I currently have this pc I am on now running windows 10
Under activation it is 'Activated with a digital licence linked to your Microsoft account'
I have just bought new MB, CPU, RAM and SSD so will be essentially building a new computer to replace this one which will then be sold.
As part of the new computer I would like to install windows 11 as I feel its probably been out long enough now to be relatively stable.
My plan was to build the new computer with this one still running (my wife uses it for work stuff) then when it is up and running activate windows 11 with my windows 10 licence and decommission the win 10 machine.
Will the windows activation servers/process be ok with me attempting to re-activate a different version of windows and also on different hardware than before or is it going to be too much and fail to activate?
If it will be ok, how do I remove the licence from this PC so I can activate the new one?
Thanks
Arge
