Cover Note: I am slightly inexperienced when it comes to PC hardware.

Hey guys! Here's the situation... Back in February I bought a build directly from OC and it was great!
I had come from laptop gaming to PC gaming and the difference was huge.
The build itself only cost about £500 so it wasn't too amazing.
Once my birthday rolled around I got a new graphics card (AMD Sapphire Radeon 7850 2Gb).
That was in June, and now my motherboard and CPU are crying out for an upgrade to atleast be on par with the Graphics Card.

Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-M LX AMD 760G
Processor: AMD Bulldozer FX-4 Quad Core 4100 Black Edition 3.60Ghz
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 7850 2048MB GDDR5
Memory: Kingston 8GB Dual Channel DDR3

(If I'm missing any info, let me know.)

I'm looking to spend about £250 although could possibly stretch to £300 if necessary. It's mainly used for gaming and recording the gameplay through Fraps/Xsplit for a channel I do some videos for.

Hope someone can help,

Cheers!

Woah, didn't expect such a sudden response.

No, I've not tried overclocking for fear of breaking something.
Im guessing it's a lot easier than I think it is?

I've not got an SSD, considered buying one at some point though for faster start-up time and what have you.

Also: Thanks for the crazy fast response from you too, Idleman!

Have a read through your manual. You have Core Unlocker and Turbo Key, both of which will give you a performance boost.
Or, as Stulid suggested, try OCing.

Yeah, I've been using the Turbo Key. Performance isn't particularly a huge issue for me.
I'm sort of just looking to have everything on the same level so that in the future everything gets replaced at the same time.
That and I'd love just to have a fantastic system. :)

I'll look into overclocking my system over the weekend, any hints or tips you could offer when it comes to it?

So my all out best choice would be to buy new hardware?

Just checked too, that processor just went down to £163.99.

Saving me £20 :)

Yes mate, the case takes a full ATX mobo.

I have literally no idea what that means, yet it's actually assuring me that everything is going to be fine.

Thanks a lot for the help everyone! Really didn't expect such a sudden and excellent response.

I am going to go for the Gigabyte Z77-D3H and I do have multiple pen drives.

...I'm worried you're going to tell me to do something I don't understand.

(Just to clarify in case I'm coming off as completely technically illiterate, I'm not as bad as I seem and will probably understand. I'm just very panicky.)

Some users have had problems when connecting monitor to the Gpu.
If that happens with you, then you need to download the Bios update, F18, from the link below.
Follow the directions in the manual for installation.
It is very straight forward.

T here is no need to Panic.

So I'd install that in the situation that I couldn't connect my monitor directly to my Gpu and had to connect via VGA? Sounds pretty straight forward.

Would there be any other recommendation for a motherboard that would avoid a problem like this while remaining at the same level of motherboard?

Could stretch another bit of cash out if it means less problems and better finished product.

It nothing to worry about. It is still a very good board. There been a few other members with same mobo and 7850. All had the same problem. But as soon as they update the bios, everything was okay.
All motherboards have bios updates for one reason or another. They can`t test out every bit of hardware or software for compatiblity.
You`ll be fine.

Ah, that's a relief. Thanks a lot for all your help!

Really couldn't have done this without the help. :)

Also, could cooling be an issue with this?
